Heartland of the Inland Pacific Northwest, the rolling hills of the Palouse are a mystical expanse that was transformed between 1860 and 1920 from undulating prairie into one of the nation's premier dryland farming and ranching districts. It covers the stunningly beautiful landscapes of the Washington-Idaho border farming region from the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene Valley south to Walla Walla, and from Lewiston and Clarkston westward to the Tri-Cities.
This image of the Whitman County Granary tucked into the Palouse hills is an iconic image which I captured from Steptoe Butte.
I have always loved photography. Photography provides a wonderful view of the world. It makes one slow down and see. I am always looking, looking, looking for the shot. Always surveying the light and the color of a scene. Finding the right perspective. I spend half the year in Truro, Ma. on the outer Cape (Cape Cod) where the light is spectacularly beautiful and draws many artists. You will find many sunsets and seascapes on my page. I also love to travel with my camera, of course. You will find many images from my wanderings on my page as well.
